Choice

Updated: Aug 18, 2021

Today is a good day for a good day! How many times have you heard this? How many times have you really read it? I mean really read it with a purpose? I admit I glanced over it many time till recently and God has opened my eyes and revealed to me this statement is a choice. A choice according to Oxford Dictionary is an act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities.

WOW!!! What a powerful word. Back in August 2019, I was listening to Pastor Chris Hodges, Church of the Highlands, Graysville, Alabama, he was preaching a series called “Choose Joy”. (you can go to www.Churchofthehighlands.com go to all messages and scroll back to August 2019 if you want to watch yourself)

In Isiah 61:1-4 it states“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory. They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities destroyed long ago. They will revive them, though they have been deserted for many generations.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭61:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

https://bible.com/bible/116/isa.61.1-4.NLT in this passage God wants you to know God, find freedom, discover your purpose, and make a difference. Pastor Chris says in this message “choices lead feelings follow” you have God giving you an opportunity to take a bad situation and choose Joy. Choose to praise our Lord while your in the midst of a bad season.

1: pray first- should be first response not last defense prayer replaces worry

It’s Time to wake up and make a choice to change, change the thought process, change the way we react! Choice what a simple everyday word! everyday is full of choices-what choice will you make today. After my son passed away June 23,2020 I had so many choices to make. I was so scared to go thru the anger phase of Grief. I was scared to accept that he was gone. I had no idea how to do life without one of my babies.
